You must be committed to bringing high-quality research on religion into wider public debate and discussion and have some experience in working with the media, and especially social media, to disseminate research beyond the academy is essential.
You must already have an MA and be working at doctoral level (either with a PhD or studying for a PhD) and have some expertise in the study of religion or theology is highly desirable.
You will support Professor Woodhead and her team by actively helping to disseminate research to appropriate networks, publishers, media, and other outlets. You will also assist in organising and publicising the Westminster Faith Debates and actively identify opportunities for disseminating research outside the academy and assist in capitalising on these.
You will assist as appropriate in writing and preparing press releases and other media outputs.
You will help to manage and continually improve the website (www.religionandsociety.org) and social media channels to broaden the reach of the Westminster Faith Debates and associated research.
You will be able to take advantage of excellent career progression opportunities through the network of contacts that has been created around the AHRC/ESRC Religion and Society Programme and the Westminster Faith Debates, and success in the post and in helping to secure funding may lead to opportunities to continue with new projects. Training will be offered where appropriate.
The post is offered at Grade 6 (Research Associate) at a level depending on qualification and experience.
