Working with Muslim children and their families- A free practitioner seminar

The Glamorgan Building, King Edward VII Avenue, Cardiff, 24th June, 9am-1pm

There will be three talks during the morning as well as opportunities for discussion about your particular practice context. There will be a particular emphasis in the material presented on children of primary school age.

Topics covered will include:

– Cultural competence.

– Islam: summary of key beliefs and practices.

– Muslims in Britain: history, demography and developments.

– Religious nurture in middle childhood: Commonality and diversity.

– Children’s learning about Islam in the home.

– Supplementary education.

Speakers from the university and the local Muslim community.
