PhD student on Phase 2 Collaborative Studentship Keeping the Faith: The transmissions of “Sikhism” among young British Sikhs (18-30) Jasjit Singh was on BBC Radio 4’s Beyond Belief programme on 3rd January 2011 discussing the Guru Granth Sahib and other sacred texts. It may not be available online for much longer.

Young, British and Muslim: Academic Research and Real Lives

Recent research from the Religion and Society Programme has produced new findings which allow us to test and challenge popular assumptions. This free one day event in Manchester November 2011 will present these findings in an accessible way with feedback and discussion from experts including Anshuman Mondal and Sughra Ahmed.

Project Researcher Appointment

Dr. Sariya Contractor commenced work in January 2011 as project researcher at the University of Derby to work with Principal Investigator, Professor Paul Weller, and the research team from the Universities of Derby, Manchester and Oxford on AHRC/ESRC Religion and Society project exploring “Religion and Belief, Discrimination and Equality in England and Wales: Theory, Policy and Practice (2000-2010)”.
