Personnel
Linda Woodhead
Linda is Director of the Religion and Society Programme. This role involves:
• Co-ordinating the Programme and making sure it meets its objectives
• Overseeing the commissioning of research
• Acting as the public face and contact point for the Programme
• Liaising between the research councils and the projects they are funding
• Adding value to the research on the Programme, e.g. by offering training courses to researchers, and by bringing the researchers together to learn from one another
• Helping ensure that research findings are communicated effectively to the right constituencies, and that they have maximum impact.
Linda is Professor of Sociology of Religion at Lancaster University. The Directorship buys a proportion of her time for five years, but she is still based at the University.

Peta Ainsworth
Peta is Linda’s assistant on the Programme. She works half-time, and is also based at Lancaster University.
Rebecca Catto
Rebecca is the Research Associate for the Programme. She is based full-time at Lancaster University. Her role involves:
• Monitoring research findings from the commissioned projects
• With the Director, helping build synergies between projects on the Programme (and on related national and international Programmes)
• With the Director, analysing the findings of the projects
• Synthesising and writing up key results and data in an accessible form for a variety of uses, the Programme website in particular
• With the Director, identifying data and findings which can be best disseminated at Programme level , and planning the best means of dissemination for different stakeholders
• Contributing to and (co-)editing books and other publications arising from the Programme
Other personnel
In addition, the Programme is supported by personnel at the AHRC and ESRC. It is directly administered by the AHRC.
The Programme is supervised by a Steering Committee.
Research is commissioned by a Commissioning Panel.
