What role for Religious Organisations in an era of Shrinking Welfare?

Dr Johnsen is Senior Research Fellow at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. She led the project The Difference that ‘Faith’ Makes funded by Religion and Society and has written a case study of the research for Religion and Change in Modern Britain.

Dr Dinham is Reader in Religion and Society at Goldsmiths, University of London. He has led the FaithXChange network funded by Religion and Society. Listen to him introducing a co-organised event on Faith and Policy here.

Peter has been Archbishop of Southwark since 2010. He is Vice-President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales. Since 1998, he has been Chairman of the Department of Christian Responsibility and Citizenship of the Bishops’ Conference.

The Rt Hon David Blunkett is MP for Sheffield, Brightside and Hillsborough. He served in the Labour cabinet between 1997 and 2005 as Secretary of State for Education and Employment 1997-2001; Home Secretary 2001-04 and Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.
